The Summer is over 🙁 and at Zanshin karate club, that means one thing, SEPTEMBER exams!
September exams are usually quiet, due to the fact that during the summer months, many people have holidays and time away from the dojo. Because of this, there seems to be a little more tension in the air than usual, maybe this is due to the fact that there are fewer karateka in the exam, or that some have been away from the dojo a lot during the summer, but would still like to test. I believe it’s because there are fewer people entering the exam. With our new tagging system, very few slip through the net and we only seem to get people taking exams, when they are ready.
Our first exam was the adults at the honbu dojo in Biggleswade. This is always the strongest group, with everybody showing tremendous effort and spirit. Especially well done to the karateka who were testing for the first time, truly a daunting experience! On Saturday at Huntingdon karate club we had Tiny Tigers followed by the over 8 years group. Then on to Biggleswade karate dojo, where we had the Biggleswade Tiny Tigers followed by the over 8 years group. All of our karateka were amazing, lots of nerves and worried looks, followed by smiles all around. 🙂
